Surface Preparation Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Surface Preparation Specialist to join our team at Holtec International. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing high-quality surface preparation and protective coating applications using various metal finishing equipment and protective coating application equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain blasting and other surface preparation equipment.
- Setup, operate, and maintain paint spraying and other protective coating equipment.
- Interpret technical requirements of surface preparation and protective coating applications and verify surface finish and coating quality for acceptance.
- Work in a safe manner using personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to all safety protocols.
- Thoroughly understand surface preparation, finishes, and coatings in application on finished products.
- Use various preparation and finishing equipment and supplies.
- Record time and production on proper forms and/or in computer systems.
- Handle material movements as needed by hand, crane, forklift, or other material handling equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance necessary for proper care of equipment.
- Communicate with supervision on status of work and train new personnel as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Post-high school training in a related field preferred.
- Prior experience in an industrial spray painting operation is preferred; experience in automotive painting is a plus.
- Prior experience with work order computer data entry systems.
Working Conditions
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. infrequently; lift and carry up to 25-30 pounds frequently.
- Regularly required to talk, hear, and use a computer.
- Frequently required to use industrial spray paint equipment, wear respirators and/or powered air systems, walk, stand, climb stairs, climb ladders, use an aerial lift, and sit or stand at a workstation.
