Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and quality assurance of our systems and services
  • Engage in defining the technical architecture of the product
  • Assist in converting product requirements into actionable user stories and technical solutions
  • Deliver highly reliable and scalable services within a production environment
  • Guide and mentor fellow engineers, fostering a strong technical culture and aiding in team growth
  • Propose innovative ideas for new initiatives and technologies
  • Collaborate with project leads, product managers, and other software developers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of programming experience, preferably with a modern technology stack
  • Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Spring, AWS, PostgreSQL, and experience with Kubernetes in a service-oriented architecture
  • 3+ years of experience in Java, Kotlin, or other object-oriented programming languages
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) tools
  • Experience in developing microservice-based applications
  • Familiarity with GIT and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) systems
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and take initiative to drive projects to completion
  • Demonstrated sense of accountability; capable of managing projects from inception to delivery
  • Experience in a collaborative coding environment, engaging in design refinement, code reviews, and managing pull requests
  • Valuing Unit and Integration testing as integral to software development

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in scaling highly available, mission-critical systems
  • Familiarity with the insurance sector and its regulatory requirements
