Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply advanced knowledge of various surveying equipment, engineering methodologies, mathematics, construction materials, and other physical sciences to supervise project drawings and plans.
  • Develop project work plans and determine staffing needs for the team.
  • Lead the creation of proposals, manage project budgets, and schedule survey teams to ensure accurate data collection.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews of survey outputs.
  • Oversee various surveying projects including control, boundary, topographic, ALTA, right of way, and construction surveys.
  • Ensure adherence to CAD standards among employees, subcontractors, and field teams.
  • Coordinate with other departments to effectively manage large, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while actively engaging in business development efforts.
  • Guide project support staff and directly oversee project managers as a senior leader.
  • Manage the complete project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with financial goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possession of a Professional Land Surveyor license in Tennessee (or eligibility to obtain one).
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, GIS, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in surveying.
  • Familiarity with contracts, negotiations, budgeting, and estimating processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities to manage and support teams on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Thorough understanding of surveying principles, fundamentals, and equipment operations.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Experience with Trimble equipment and Trimble Business Center.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing circumstances.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in GEOPAK, MicroStation, and OpenRoads software.
  • Experience with LiDAR technologies, including 3D laser scanning and point cloud registration.
