Senior Staff Biologist Job Description

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Biologist to join our Environmental & Natural Resources team in Atlanta, GA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead ecological assessments, wetland delineations, and wildlife habitat evaluations for various projects.
  • Mentor and review the work of entry-level staff to ensure quality and excellence.
  • Provide guidance and direction to scientists on challenging issues, ensuring resolution and compliance.
  • Conduct fieldwork, including local and overnight travel, up to 60% of the time.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of federal, state, and local agency jurisdictional determinations and permitting processes.
  • Assist Project Managers in acquiring new and existing clients, and conduct on-site visits to monitor project progress and ensure compliance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited program and professional registration (if available).
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in leading field surveys and assessments for natural resources identification, including wetland delineation, hydrologic determinations, and rare, threatened, and endangered species surveys.
  • TNQHP or QHP-IT, PWS or WPIT preferred.
