Position Overview:

As a Facilities Maintenance Specialist, your role involves troubleshooting and repairing hotel equipment, facilities, and systems (including HVAC and electrical). Your responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance, conducting regular inspections, coordinating maintenance staff, diagnosing potential issues, and adhering to budget constraints.


Essential Job Functions:


• Maintain properties by performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance tasks using hand tools.


• Replace air-conditioner filters.


• Notify management regarding the need for major repairs or enhancements to lighting, heating, and ventilation systems.


• Manage furnace, air-conditioner, and boiler operations to provide heating, cooling, and hot water for guests.


• Implement standard preventative maintenance procedures for equipment.


• Keep records of all equipment maintenance and repairs.


• Maintain files of Material Safety Data Sheets.


• Program phone equipment according to hotel requirements.


• Collaborate with and train hotel maintenance staff in various areas.


• Ensure the quality of appearance for both the interior and exterior of the hotel.


• Paint and stain walls, trim, and doors.


• Repair wallpaper, carpet, sheetrock, and doors within the hotel.


• Maintain an organized and well-stocked inventory of finishing supplies required in the hotel.


• Ensure superior quality in guest rooms.


• Check the operation of all guest room equipment.


• Address minor issues and report major problems to the General Manager.


• Keep records of completed rooms.


• Ensure par stocking of regularly used parts and supplies.


• Inspect and repair minor issues in common areas.


• Learn and adhere to emergency procedures.


• Ensure safe operation of all equipment, chemicals, and lockout procedures.


• Arrive for scheduled shifts on time and in uniform, in accordance with company policy.


• Comply with all company policies and procedures related to this position and its responsibilities.


• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

● High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent experience preferred.

● Bachelor's Degree, technical school, and/or equivalent experience in a hotel or related field preferred.

● Basic reading, writing, and math skills required.

● Valid driver's license required.

● Customer service skills are essential.

● Strong prioritization and time management skills are necessary.

● Attention to detail is crucial.
