Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Product Specialist to join our team in Mooresville, NC. As a subject matter expert, you will analyze customer operational requirements and act as a liaison between sales, service, factories, and external customers to ensure the delivery of optimal solutions.
Key Responsibilities:- Serve as the technical expert for software that facilitates data transmission and machine integration, enabling full optimization of Weinig Holz-Her machinery for wood product manufacturing in the North American market.
- Execute joint calls with sales team on larger or more complex calls within assigned territory, specifically to address technical aspects of the software's functionality.
- Participate in live and online end user and authorized Weinig/Holz-Her USA dealer visits, presentations, and demonstrations.
- Provide technical support and ongoing product training to the sales, parts, field service, and other internal departments as needed.
- Provide senior-level backup support for product application, training, and diagnostics for new and existing customers.
- Support internal sales team and machinery dealers by increasing their product knowledge through regularly scheduled training classes, as well as creating, reviewing, and modifying sales documents, presentations, and proposals.
- Review specifications included in sales quotes and order confirmations for technical accuracy.
- In conjunction with the internal training department, develop internal training programs for sales, technical, and diagnostic staff on all aspects of installing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and supporting associated product units and facilitate training sessions as needed.
- Coordinate with the Director of Sales to establish dedicated product unit sales targets and develop strategies to meet/exceed those targets.
- Participate in relationship growth and retention discussions for existing customer portfolio.
- Provide creative support/input for marketing efforts (press releases, industry magazines, website, etc.).
- Research solutions as required to improve system interfaces with other Weinig products.
- Attend regional and international industry events as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of manufacturing trends and methods in the industry and provide local market demands to the factory to maximize product portfolio.
- Maintain strong product knowledge and keep up to date on Weinig/Holz-Her product information and automation process solutions.
- Assist as needed in the resolution of aftermarket issues in cooperation with Weinig Holz-Her USA Service.
- Two (2) year Technical Associates Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics) or the equivalent combination of technical school training, military, or industrial experience required.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and operation aspects of machinery with ability to read electrical schematics and pneumatic prints.
- Proficiency in lean manufacturing tools such as Six Sigma and Kaizen.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate and interact with others and communicate technical concepts.
- Must be a creative problem solver that is solutions-oriented, focused, and attentive to customer needs.
- Possess strong analytical, troubleshooting, and project management skills with a demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies.
- Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing customers' needs and expectations.
- Must be able to deal with sensitive information and maintain its confidentiality.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel domestically by air or car on a regular basis (Up to 75%) with the ability to obtain a valid passport for occasional international travel.
- Background, MVR, and pre-employment drug screen required.
- Detailed understanding and demonstrated experience in technical/product/solution sales and/or product management/support strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in the woodworking industry.
- Knowledge of manufacturing trends and methods in the wood processing industry.
- Four (4) year BA degree in a related field.
- Prior capital equipment sales experience.
