Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced process engineer to join our team, focusing on advanced electronics packaging at the die level. This role is pivotal in meeting the increasing demand for sophisticated systems development and packaging solutions that tackle the complexities of highly integrated hardware, particularly as form factors shrink and thermal loads escalate. Our process engineers utilize cutting-edge capabilities to implement advanced packaging methodologies, including 2.5D integration of microelectronic devices into System in Package (SiP) or Multichip Module (MCM) technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to develop innovative product concepts.
  • Gather necessary materials and resources for product design.
  • Conduct usability and safety testing on products.
  • Oversee manufacturing processes to establish and maintain quality standards.
  • Proactively address complex challenges with minimal guidance, contributing to requirements development and adapting to changes as needed.
  • Provide insights and recommend design or process enhancements based on analytical data.
  • Identify technical risks at the program or system level and formulate effective mitigation strategies.
  • Mentor junior engineers, offering constructive feedback and guidance.

Educational Background:

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is required.

Experience:

5-7 years of experience in Product Engineering or a closely related field is essential.

Additional Responsibilities:

Specific duties include:

  • Developing and refining innovative processes for die level assembly, including automated dispensing, precision placement, wire bonding, encapsulation, and hermetic packaging.
  • Collaborating with project leaders to create build schedules for multiple concurrent product lines.
  • Working closely with design engineers to ensure reliable assembly of package designs.
  • Defining strategies for independently resolving technical issues while adhering to program timelines and budgets.
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive process documentation for operational use.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience in fields such as mechanical engineering, materials science, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Master's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in similar fields.
  • Experience in programming automated die level assembly equipment (e.g., die placement, wire bonding, encapsulation).
  • Ability to produce clear process control documents and work instructions.
  • A collaborative team player with the capacity to manage competing tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills to achieve program objectives.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis software such as JMP or Minitab for designing experiments.
  • Knowledge of failure analysis techniques to identify root causes and prevent future issues.
  • Experience with MES systems for tracking process flows.

Security Clearance:

A current in-scope TOP SECRET security clearance is required.
