Clinical Utilization Management Specialist

Lifeline Connections, a leading behavioral health treatment provider in Washington State, is seeking a skilled Clinical Utilization Management Specialist to join our team.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing ongoing utilization review and authorization for higher levels of care, including Substance Use Disorder Inpatient (IP), Withdrawal Management (Detox), and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) services.
This role requires a strong understanding of medical necessity criteria and the ability to apply this knowledge in authorization decisions. You will collaborate with supervisory staff, program managers, senior staff members, and counselors to build and maintain clinical files, complete pre-certification for higher level of care admissions, and conduct concurrent reviews.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree or 3 years of relevant experience, with expertise in using ASAM Placement Criteria and conducting treatment authorizations with commercial insurance and/or managed care plans.
In addition to your technical skills, you will bring excellent verbal and written communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously while maintaining continuous communication with other staff members.
This is a full-time position offering a generous benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a 401(K) plan with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 5%.
The estimated salary for this position is $38,500 - $43,750 per year, based on a 40-hour workweek and assuming an average hourly wage of $18.75/hour.
