Job Summary

Duke University seeks an experienced Administrative Assistant to support the Office of Global Affairs. The successful candidate will provide administrative assistance to the Associate Vice Provost for Global Affairs and members of the OGA team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily briefings for the AVP regarding upcoming meetings with relevant background materials, points in need of clarification, and action items.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for the AVP and OGA team, including airfare, hotel, and transportation.
  • Organize and oversee registration for conferences, meetings, and events for the AVP and OGA team.
  • Coordinate funding requests for support from faculty, staff, and students, and issue award letters.
  • Schedule and coordinate regular standing meetings and events, including the Global Duke Meeting and the Global Administrative Meeting.
  • Control and maintain efficient operations for OGA and the JHFC, including making maintenance requests and keeping supplies stocked.
  • Support communications and documentation efforts within OGA, including creating and updating communications materials and overseeing file management on Box.
  • Coordinate and support reporting on international and area studies centers activities.
  • Provide logistical support for visiting scholars and international delegations.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a field related to the position and four years of clerical or research experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the education and experience requirement.
