Position Summary
The Front Desk Agent is responsible for delivering exceptional service to guests in a friendly and efficient manner. This role encompasses a variety of tasks primarily focused on guest interactions, including but not limited to registration, checkout, and payment processing, all aimed at enhancing the overall guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly upon their arrival.
- Facilitate the registration and checkout processes at the front desk.
- Process payments for guest accounts during registration and checkout, ensuring accurate handling of cash and maintaining a balanced cash drawer.
- Recognize and acknowledge loyalty program members and returning guests.
- Manage guest bookings, identify upselling opportunities, and inform guests about enhancements to their stay.
- Review daily arrival reports and ensure special requests are accommodated, including VIP recognition and proper billing setups.
- Participate in all required training sessions and departmental meetings.
- Stay informed about special promotions, daily activities, and any group or conference events taking place in-house.
- Adhere to safety protocols to prevent injuries to oneself and others.
- Maintain confidentiality and security protocols in accordance with company policies.
- Handle incoming calls promptly and direct them to the appropriate departments.
- Collaborate with other departments to meet guest needs and log requests or issues in the appropriate systems.
- Provide information regarding hotel policies, services, and local attractions.
- Keep the lobby area clean and organized.
- Assist with reservations and manage incoming mail and packages.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
In addition to the essential functions, this position may require performing various supportive tasks as determined by management, including:
- Addressing guest inquiries.
- Following all safety and security policies.
- Reporting maintenance issues and safety hazards.
- Completing other reasonable job duties as requested.
- Work environment is primarily indoors, with moderate temperature control.
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs. and push/pull carts weighing up to 250 lbs.
- Requires good manual dexterity for operating office equipment.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Strong communication skills in both verbal and written forms.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with hospitality software.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is preferred.
All staff members are expected to maintain a neat and professional appearance in accordance with company standards.
Attendance Expectations
Consistent attendance is crucial for the successful performance of this role. Staff members must comply with company policies regarding attendance and punctuality.
