Position: Automotive Maintenance Team Leader
Location: Fairfax, KS

Overview:

The primary role of a maintenance team leader is to develop, execute, and sustain long-term strategies for enhancing maintenance operations while providing technical guidance to the supported manufacturing sectors. A typical maintenance team leader is accountable for the efficient utilization of personnel, materials, and equipment in alignment with SPQRC objectives.
Key Responsibilities:

•Enforce and actively promote corporate safety protocols, initiatives, and facility cleanliness standards.

•Identify equipment failures, ascertain root causes, and implement immediate and long-term solutions.

•Assist the facility in meeting Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, and Cost targets.

•Oversee construction and maintenance initiatives.

•Aid in the enforcement of divisional and corporate regulations.

•Ensure adherence to schedules and quality benchmarks.

•Promote safety and effective housekeeping practices.

•Mentor, develop, and assess team members.

•Adhere to Local and National Labor agreements while supporting divisional and corporate guidelines.

•Engage with internal and external teams as necessary to resolve issues.

•Execute planned maintenance tasks.

•Fulfill work assignments within budgetary, manpower, and timing constraints.

•Assist the facility in achieving Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, and Cost objectives.

•Supervise construction and maintenance projects.

•Maintain adherence to schedules and quality standards.
Essential Skills:

•Willingness to work any assigned shift, including daily, weekend, and holiday overtime as needed.

•Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering schematics.

•Understanding of mechanical and electrical principles.

•Experience in machinery, assembly, and/or facility operations.

•Knowledge of and commitment to ensuring a safe industrial work environment.

•Familiarity with basic mathematics, including trigonometry.

•Experience in clerical tasks, data collection, and machine analysis.

•Proven experience in supervising a multi-skilled workforce.

•In-depth knowledge of tooling, manufacturing, and assembly processes.

•Completion of behavior-based competency assessments that evaluate learning ability, adaptability, initiative, decision-making, results orientation, teamwork, empowerment, organization, and planning skills.

•High level of analytical capability for complex problem-solving.

•Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with others, motivate, and drive results.

•Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

•Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

•Familiarity with Lotus Notes or other email communication platforms.

•Ability to collaborate effectively with others, demonstrating teamwork skills.

•Capacity to partner with senior management to analyze and resolve issues.

•Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Education/Experience:

•Associate degree in Engineering or a related technical field is preferred.

•Trained in a skilled trades area or equivalent technical education.

•Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required.
