Role Summary:

As a School Bus Operator, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safe and timely transportation of students to and from school. Our commitment to safety is paramount, and we strive to provide peace of mind to parents and guardians.

All applicants, regardless of prior experience, will begin their journey with us as a Driver in Training. We pride ourselves on having the best-trained drivers in the industry, supported by extensive training and development resources.

Training Program:

The Driver in Training will receive guidance from our experienced staff to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) and any necessary endorsements. Upon successful completion of the training program and meeting all requirements, the individual will transition into a Professional Driver role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a school bus or designated vehicle safely and reliably along assigned routes.
  • Arrive on time for duty and maintain adherence to scheduled routes while prioritizing safety.
  • Assist passengers in emergency evacuations when necessary.
  • Report any incidents or accidents according to company protocols.
  • Adhere to company policies regarding student and passenger management.
  • Communicate effectively with relevant personnel regarding any issues or procedures.
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Foster a cooperative environment with colleagues, supervisors, and passengers.
  • Utilize vehicle equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum age requirement of 21 years; 25 years for specific locations as per state law.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain all necessary state licenses and certifications.
  • Meet physical and medical standards and pass substance abuse screenings.
  • Successfully complete all training requirements.
  • Practice defensive driving and maintain safe driving habits.
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
