Culinary Specialist

The Amity Foundation is seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at the Los Angeles County Training Center. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals to our students and staff. This is a unique opportunity to work in a therapeutic community and make a positive impact on the lives of others.

• Prepare and cook meals for the program, ensuring that they are nutritious and meet the dietary needs of our students and staff.
• Assist in the ordering and storage of food, ensuring that it meets all health and safety standards.
• Follow the monthly rotation menu and maintain a high standard of physical excellence in the food service dining room and kitchen.
• Assist in the training and development of students learning the vocation of food service, including cooking, food preparation, and presentation of the meal, dining room aesthetics, food storage procedures, and daily hygiene.
• Attend Community Building day activities and follow the Community schedule.
• Additional duties as assigned.

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED) or actively working toward HS Diploma or GED.
• One year related culinary experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current state driver's license.
• ServeSafe Certification.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
