Job Summary

The Patient Service Representative I plays a vital role in facilitating patient care at Cedars-Sinai. This role involves answering telephones, taking accurate messages, scheduling patient appointments, and managing patient referrals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism and productivity while maintaining a positive interaction with our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer and triage calls, directing to appropriate individuals or departments.
  • Verify insurance eligibility with an understanding of basic healthcare insurance benefits.
  • Update patient demographic and insurance information in the CS-Link system accurately and timely.
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments under supervision.
  • Assist in managing physician schedules, handling patient/provider correspondence as directed.
  • Provide general administrative support, including answering phones, routing calls, and managing medical records.
  • Coordinate and manage patient referrals and authorizations, ensuring that patient interactions comply with healthcare regulatory standards.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED - Required.
  • At least 6 months experience working with insurance companies and obtaining authorizations - Preferred.
