Northrop Grumman Classified Solutions is looking for a highly skilled Linux Administrator to join its vibrant team of technical experts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary Linux Systems Administrator for a classified government contract.
  • Effectively communicate across all organizational levels, engaging with both internal and external stakeholders in both written and verbal formats.
  • Ensure the seamless operation of multi-user computer systems by coordinating with network, software, and system engineers, as well as project managers and end users.
  • Support multiple networks while ensuring essential administrative tasks are completed and guide others as necessary.
  • Analyze customer requirements and determine the necessary equipment and software solutions through automated systems.
  • Recommend and implement system enhancements to improve performance and reliability, including installation, upgrades, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management.
  • Provide backup and recovery services, manage file systems and disk space, and routinely oversee virus protection.
  • Create and maintain user and computer accounts, modifying file permissions and security access lists as needed.
  • Test new product releases to ensure compatibility and minimize user disruption.
  • Develop and document technical processes and procedures as required.
  • Make recommendations for hardware, software, and system component purchases.
  • Interact with vendors to troubleshoot issues and evaluate their products and services.
  • Adhere to stringent Information Systems security protocols at all times.
  • Maintain security audit and logging information for all classified networked and standalone computers as directed by the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM).
  • Prepare security documentation for input to Computer Security.
  • Report project status as required for all recurring and non-recurring efforts.
  • Work independently with minimal direction to determine and develop solutions.

Required Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in installing and managing Linux operating systems in a server environment.
  • Familiarity with installing operating system patches.
  • Experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware in a networked environment.
  • General troubleshooting skills in Linux.
  • End user support capabilities.
  • Ability to manage tier 2 and 3 helpdesk tickets.
  • Experience operating within NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG information system environments.

Basic Qualifications - Level 3:

  • Master's degree with 3 years of experience; or Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience; OR Associate's degree with 7 years of experience; OR a High School diploma or equivalent with 9 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a completed degree.
  • Experience operating within NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG information system environments.
  • IAM Level I certification (e.g., Security+ CE) or higher is required on Day 1; maintaining the required certification will be a condition of continued employment.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance is required; maintaining the required security clearance will be a condition of continued employment.
  • Candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain access to Special Programs as a condition of continued employment.

Basic Qualifications - Level 4:

  • Master's Degree with 6 years of IT experience; OR a Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of IT experience; OR an Associate's Degree with 10 years of IT experience; OR a High School Diploma/GED with 12 years of IT experience is required.
  • Must have a DOD 8570 IAT Level II, or higher, certification (example: Security+ CE); maintaining the required certification will be a condition of continued employment.
  • Must have Linux Operating Systems support experience.
  • Experience in managing Linux Workstations and Servers is required.
  • Experience operating within NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG information system environments.
  • Candidates must have a current DOD Top Secret level security clearance (at a minimum), including a closed investigation date completed within the last 6 years OR must be enrolled in the DOD Continuous Evaluation (CE) Program, to be considered.
  • Candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain access to Special Programs as a condition of continued employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Top Secret security clearance.
  • Understanding of basic networking concepts, including subnets, routing, and VLANs. Cisco experience and/or certification is a plus.
  • Experience in Windows server management.
  • Familiarity with Windows AD, LDAP, VMWare, and knowledge of SAN storage systems.
  • Red Hat certification for the current version.
  • Experience using Ansible.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of remediating security vulnerabilities.
  • VMWare experience with the current version.
  • Familiarity with environmental monitoring tools (HBSS/Solar Winds/Splunk).
  • Basic scripting experience.
  • Experience with the creation and deployment of system images in an enterprise environment.
  • Familiarity with the Certification & Accreditation process.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a team of IT professionals.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work after hours and weekends as required.

Salary Range: $88,600 - $133,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
