Electrical Hardware Development Engineer II, Prime Air

Amazon is seeking an experienced Electrical Hardware Development Engineer to design and develop power electronics hardware and related electrical power systems for Prime Air Drones. This includes battery chargers, DC-DC converters, DC-AC inverters, Motor Controllers, and power distribution systems.
In this role, you will work with our Seattle-based team to help deploy new hardware and electrical power systems for Prime Air Drones. You will collaborate with internal and external vendors to support hardware development, manufacturing, and testing. Additionally, you will contribute to ongoing development and testing efforts for the Drone.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test power electronics hardware and analog/digital devices components.
- Circuit design, electrical analysis, component selection, electrical schematic creation, and PCB layout support.
- Support engineering trades, estimates, and interactions with suppliers/partners on critical components and develop hardware from concept to mass production.
Required Skills and Qualifications
B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related fields, minimum 4+ years of experience developing power electronics, understanding of power semiconductor switches and diodes, devices built upon various materials (Si, SiC, GaN), inverter and converter circuit design and analysis, embedded control of power electronic circuits, lab environment experience with high voltages and currents, and proficiency in software tools (Spice, PLECS, Mathcad, Ansys Simplorer, Matlab).

A competitive salary ranging from $105,600/year to $185,000/year depending on location, dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation as part of a total compensation package, medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
