POSITION OVERVIEW: The primary responsibility of the Culinary Preparation Specialist is to assist in the assembly of ingredients and workstations essential for the cooking process, while also ensuring the kitchen environment is maintained in a clean and sanitized manner. The ideal candidate values punctuality, offers support to fellow kitchen staff as needed, and adheres to all health and safety protocols. All tasks must be performed in alignment with the company's policies, practices, and procedures, following the guiding principles of Jason Aldean's, Gatlinburg.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILLS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Arrives on time and is present at the designated prep station as per the work schedule
- Prepares food items to specifications before, during, and after operational hours
- Ensures all food is prepared according to company standards, recipes, and quality benchmarks
- Retrieves necessary food products and supplies from storage areas such as freezers and coolers
- Prepares equipment, utensils, ingredients, garnishes, and supplies required for efficient station operation, reporting any issues to the Sous Chef or Executive Chef promptly
- Rotates and restocks pantry items and supplies throughout the shift to maintain first in, first out (FIFO) procedures
- Checks stock levels of salad ingredients, appetizers, desserts, and other items prior to shift start to ensure adequate supply
- Assists kitchen staff with food preparation and related tasks as outlined in prep lists
- Completes all closing duties at the end of each shift, aiding in kitchen cleanliness
- Maintains the highest standards of sanitation and food safety in the work area, including prep tables and refrigeration units
- Adheres to uniform standards and maintains personal cleanliness
- Follows safety guidelines and promptly reports any unsafe conditions or incidents to the Sous Chef or Executive Chef

- Previous experience as a pantry, prep, or line cook in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant is preferred

- Compliance with safety equipment requirements is mandatory
- Effective communication skills are essential
- Must be able to read and understand recipes in English
