Job Title: Education Specialist/Coach - Bilingual (Spanish)

We are seeking a highly skilled Education Specialist/Coach to join our team at B Above Worldwide Institute Inc. This is a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic organization that prepares community members to establish and run their own home-based childcare businesses across the boroughs of Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Conduct on-site educational compliance monitoring to ensure that our home-based childcare providers meet the highest standards of education and care.
  • Recommend necessary revisions or implementation of processes, create reports, and develop plans of action to improve the quality of education and care provided to our children.
  • Work with Education Department Directors to design a resource binder for all sites and update the teacher's planner to be distributed at both center-based and partner sites.
  • Assist the Education team in monitoring sites planners and data entry, as well as individualization and Head Start Standards.
  • Support the completion of all education files and work with the Education Department Directors to create and update the calendar for the year with the teachers at the center-based site.
  • Create and submit to the Education Directors all child-outcome reports three times per year.
  • Support the Education Directors to work with partner sites and central base to assure family-style meals and teeth-brushing protocols are followed properly.
  • Contact teachers on a monthly basis to ascertain services needs and observe the outcome of services based on initial and progressive reported/observed stress levels of the child and the teacher/parent/director associated with the service need.
  • Attend weekly Education team meetings with Education Directors and visit sites on a monthly basis to monitor programs.
  • Learn information tracking systems and update the calendar and other necessary reports, as well as provide child-outcome reports to the Education Directors.
  • Create resources for sites based on Creative Curriculum assessments and fill-out own self-assessment and review it with the Education Directors twice per year.
  • Work with the Ed Directors to conduct a formal assessment of each center annually and discuss issues or thoughts about the success of working with the partner schools with the Ed Directors.
  • Participate in writing of New Agency Written Plans and review departmental Policies and Procedures annually and as needed.
  • Review Community Assessment Annually and as needed and attend Internal departmental Team Meetings.

Our home educators care for over 880 children aged 6 weeks to 4 years of age in an educationally stimulating home-based setting. All family child care providers are licensed by the NYC and NYS Department of Health.
