We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Coordinator to join our team at Fairview Health Services. As a Pharmacy Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy services, working closely with patients, medical and nursing staff, and other units to navigate patient medication needs.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain professional relationships with providers, patients, families, insurers, and staff to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
- Coordinate workflow and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, anticipating business needs to drive growth and success.
- Manage inventory control, complex compounding, and distribution of pharmaceuticals, IV solutions, and documentation as ordered by prescribers.
- Use Epic functionality for compounding and repackaging, and maintain automated dispense systems for regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate cell therapy treatments, including specialized ordering, stocking of supportive care medications, and emergency medications.
- Handle complex drug inventories for clinics and the onsite surgery center.
- Under the direction of the pharmacist, receive prescription/orders from patients, process manually or using computer systems, and prepare drug therapy and/or dispense medication in an accurate and timely manner.
- Perform complex compounding, including intraocular injections, complex cancer treatments, investigational drugs, and other specialized medications.
- Act as a subject matter authority in third-party regulations and billing guidelines, assisting in resolving billing issues and calling out as necessary.
- One year of pharmacy technician experience is required for this position.
- Registered Technician with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy and/or Registered Intern with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy (required prior to start date).
