Product Integrity Engineer

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the quality of products and services within the assigned program or area to meet customer and division quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Reviews design drawings and changes, operation sheets, process procedures, test procedures, procurement documents, quality manuals, and inspection analyses to ensure compliance with division and customer quality requirements.
- Supports the contract review process and interprets customer, material, or process specifications.
- Performs internal audits and provides Quality support to the Engineering group with New Product Introduction (NPI) and analysis of nonconforming parts.
- Interacts with the Customer Service Department to resolve customer issues and responds to customer Corrective Action Request (CAR) requests with effective process improvements.
- Supports the Purchasing group with material procurement, special process, and approved supplier requirements.
- Generates quality metrics and reviews quality trends to mitigate process risk and institute process improvements.
- Measures and monitors supplier performance and performs Root Cause and Corrective Action using tools such as 8D and 5 Whys.
- Leads and supports Quality Clinic activities and maintains Quality Records as required to ensure compliance with all regulations.
- Implements new inspection tools and technology and supports continuous improvement projects.
- Flows quality requirements to suppliers to prevent nonconforming product and works directly with suppliers to resolve and prevent nonconforming product issues.
- Four-year degree (or 5 years of inspection experience) plus 2 to 3 years as a Quality Assurance Specialist or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of statistical process control and lean principles.
- Requires knowledge of the company quality system and contractual quality requirements.
- Ability to validate inspections, interpret GD&T blueprints, and perform shop math (including trigonometry).
- Capable with Microsoft Windows and Office.
- Requires effective human relations skills to motivate others and convince them of the validity of solutions to problems.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- The employee is required to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds frequently.
- Stoop/bend/kneel/crouch/balance/climb on an occasional basis.
