Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician I (MET I) plays a crucial role in supporting the setup, calibration, and preventative maintenance of automated manufacturing equipment. This position is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day maintenance of production areas, working under direct supervision, and reporting to the MET I Area Group Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by performing procedural preventative maintenance.
  2. Understand basic mechanical theory and utilize mechanical hand tools effectively.
  3. Possess basic electrical knowledge to perform related tasks safely.
  4. Understand basic theory of vacuum systems.
  5. Follow documentation to perform calibration tasks.
  6. Possess basic knowledge of hydraulics to perform related tasks safely.
  7. Perform in-process adjustments, including documented changeovers.
  8. Be able to perform pneumatic adjustments and understand the theory of regulation and flow and pressure.
  9. Identify parts during repair and recognize sensors.
  10. Understand PLC's (inputs and outputs).
  11. Vacuum station responsibilities.
  12. Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to all safety procedures.
Requirements

This position requires a technical degree or certificate, with a minimum of one year of manufacturing technician experience, preferably in a high-volume, applicable industry. Working knowledge of PLC's inputs and outputs, pneumatic adjustments, and common documentation (PS, SOP, PMP, PHA, GSP, MI's) and reports is essential.

Working Environment

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician I works in a dynamic environment, regularly exposed to lighting and temperature as required for the office and manufacturing areas. Appropriate safety equipment is required by area. There is potential exposure to hazardous chemicals, and the employee may be required to move throughout the facility, traverse within production areas, communicate with others, and detect or exchange information or ideas.
