Albany Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Security Officer to join our team. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor hospital grounds and buildings to prevent theft and other criminal activity
  • Screen patients and visitors, patrol corridors, and investigate suspicious activity
  • Respond to emergencies and provide general information to visitors
  • Promote good community relations and work closely with local, state, and federal law enforcement
  • Maintain the peace in the hospital and ensure the safety of the Albany Medical Center community
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • New York State Security Guard License
  • A valid New York State driver's license
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to interact with diverse clientele, work under pressure, and make quick decisions in emergency situations
  • Empathy and good judgment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a hospital environment
  • Effective computer knowledge and skills, as well as report writing skills

This role may require access to sensitive information, including HIPAA Protected Health Information and other information regulated by Federal and New York State statutes.
