Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our Water Resources Engineering Division in Columbia, Maryland. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading design efforts on various projects, collaborating with project managers, and utilizing your expertise to deliver high-quality results.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate design elements across multiple engineering disciplines to develop plans, specifications, and estimates.
  • Communicate design progress with project managers and utilize entry-level design engineers to complete tasks.
  • Lead designer for project development, including roadway drainage, open and closed drainage systems, environmental site design, stormwater management, erosion/sediment control, stream restoration, and more.
  • Maintain a firm understanding of permit processes for various review agencies.
Requirements
  • BSCE in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 5-7 years of design experience in a related field.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in applicable jurisdiction or ability to apply for reciprocity.
  • Strong CAD skills, proficient in Microstation and associated design software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide guidance and share technical knowledge with entry-level engineers.
  • Ability to work well within a project team and independently on smaller projects.
