Purpose and Responsibilities:

The Canyon Activity Center is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a cashier. As a key member of our Food Services department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, operating a cash register, and maintaining a safe and positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver outstanding customer service, ensuring a positive experience for all patrons.
  • Process transactions accurately and efficiently, handling cash and operating a cash register.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering, and stocking activities as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with management and staff to resolve any discrepancies or issues.
Requirements:
  • Must be able to work weekday afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
  • Must possess a Maricopa County Food Handler's Card and Non-slip Shoes.
  • Prior customer service and/or food service experience is highly desirable.
  • Ability to handle stress and meet changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new concepts and technology.
  • Outstanding time management and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education and Eligibility:

Grand Canyon University is committed to a student-first policy. To be eligible for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:
  • Be enrolled as a full-time student in a Bachelor's or Master's program at GCU.
  • Retain a minimum GPA of 2.0 for Bachelor's students or 3.0 for Master's students.
  • Maintain good financial and academic standing with the University.
