- Provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to patients as directed by physicians or other authorized medical personnel
- Obtain and record patient vital signs and weight
- Conduct drug/alcohol testing and adhere to required protocol
- Administer hearing/vision tests and EKGs as needed
- Assist physicians or other practitioners with patient examinations
- Administer specified medication as directed
- Maintain medical equipment, exam rooms, and office inventory
- Perform Medical Records functions, including filing and maintaining patient records
- Collaborate with Office Manager to order supplies and maintain confidentiality of patient information
- High school diploma and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program
- One-year clinical experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care, occupational health, or emergency department setting
- Current certification in basic life support
- Knowledge of nursing/medical assistant patient care tasks, including competency with suture/staple removal, administering medications, interpreting test results, wound care, and patient response
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and experience with Pyramid EMR preferred
