Job Summary:

Centra Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Team Lead to join our team. As a key member of our residential treatment program, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to our staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to our residents, and contributing to the overall success of our program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide preceptorship to student interns and staff on orientation status, ensuring a smooth transition into their roles.
  • Assist in managing and monitoring aberrant behaviors, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for our residents.
  • Collaborate with residents to meet individual appointments for assessment and/or treatment, promoting their overall well-being.
  • Collect and analyze data on each resident, preparing information for staffing and informing treatment decisions.
  • Ensure the implementation of therapeutic programming, aligning with our program's goals and objectives.
  • Chair team debriefings before, during, and after shifts, fostering open communication and collaboration among staff.
  • Notify the treatment team of any major incidents, such as elopements, therapeutic holds, injuries, or seclusions, ensuring prompt response and intervention.
  • Act as a contact person for on-duty RNs regarding medical issues, consulting and debriefing directly with RNs on precautions, elopements, and other incidents.
  • Provide milieu documentation and monitor records with supervision, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Assist in ensuring correct staff/resident ratios are met and adjusted as needed according to acuity, promoting a safe and effective treatment environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Counseling, Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • One year of experience in residential treatment, day hospital, or acute psychiatric inpatient treatment with emotionally/behaviorally disturbed children and adolescents.
  • Current CPI (Crisis Prevention Management) certification within 30 days of being hired into this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Human Services, Counseling, Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
