**Job Summary**

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing company-wide safety programs to improve EHS performance.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Develop and manage safety programs to reduce work-related injuries, illnesses, and workers' compensation claims.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines regarding safety.
  • Represent See's in interactions with OSHA and other safety-related regulatory agencies.
  • Work with leadership team members and business units to enhance a safety-oriented culture.
  • Provide direction to or manage third-party vendors that provide safety and industrial hygiene services.
  • Conduct site safety audits and job safety analyses for manufacturing operations.
  • Develop and implement safety training programs.
  • Establish protocols for collecting data related to work-related accidents, incidents, and near misses.
  • Develop and/or enhance on-site investigation procedures.
  • Apply evaluative tools for benchmarking job tasks and develop mitigation strategies for common risk factors.
  • Recognize safety training needs and design effective safety training programs.
  • Develop and administer recognition programs for safety excellence and improvement.
  • Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees and line management on safety initiatives.
  • Manage industrial hygiene activities, including hazard assessments, noise monitoring, and hearing conservation.
  • Establish procedures for maintaining and updating SDS manuals.
  • Propose policies and establish and manage programs and processes for measuring and improving environmental performance.
  • Identify and evaluate safety and environmental performance versus industry benchmarks.
  • Establish and improve processes and systems for documentation and records demonstrating compliance with regulatory compliance, safety, and environmental policies.

**Requirements**

  • Minimum 5 years of previous experience in a safety management role for a manufacturing and/or distribution business, food industry experience preferred.
  • Comprehensive and current knowledge of federal, state, and local laws governing safety rules and regulations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, and/or other related fields.
  • Professional designation of Certified Safety Professional (CSP), and/or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven ability to effectively work with and generate positive outcomes with employees at all levels of a diverse workforce.
  • Ability to maintain highest levels of judgment, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to convey ideas clearly and concisely with all employees at all levels in both written and oral communications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, inherent intellectual curiosity, and ability to work constructively with others.
  • Strong PC skills utilizing a variety of software and operating systems/applications.
  • Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly and manage change efficiently, proactively, and in a positive manner.
  • Physical ability to handle the essential functions of the job, including standing, walking, talking for prolonged periods of time; occasional periods of twisting, bending, stooping; frequent lifting and moving up to 20 pounds.
  • Frequent overnight and out of area travel required.
  • Bilingual English plus Spanish or Chinese preferred.
