Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate personal recovery by maintaining sobriety in independent living conditions for the past two years.
  • Monitor and assess client progress in rehabilitation services, focusing on enhancing and restoring their overall functioning.
  • Accompany clients in community settings to facilitate access to essential resources and appointments.
  • Gather and evaluate client information to determine their specific needs effectively.
  • Utilize trauma-informed crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation, with a preference for familiarity with relevant mental health paperwork.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary treatment team, including Care Coordinators, fellow Recovery Support Advocates, Clinicians, and therapists, to optimize client outcomes.
  • Experience in Motivational Interviewing is advantageous.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in the mental health sector.
  • Genuine compassion for clients and a commitment to making a positive impact.
  • Comfortable engaging with a diverse clientele, including those with severe mental health challenges.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience working with clients from the criminal justice system is beneficial.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment, both in office settings and within the community.
  • Willingness to participate in after-hours on-call duties.
  • Maintain high standards of productivity and documentation.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and demonstrate sound judgment.
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to meet deadlines while maintaining professionalism.
  • Familiarity with community resources related to mental health and substance use disorders, along with experience in multidisciplinary team settings.
  • Ability to interact positively with staff and clients from various cultural, ethnic, and economic backgrounds.
  • Proficient in basic office software, including word processing and data collection programs.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in a Human Services-related field or valid certification in Recovery Peer Support, with the ability to obtain certification within six months.
  • Desire to support adults (18 years and older) facing serious mental health challenges.
  • Competency in computer skills, including keyboarding and MS Office applications.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain within six months.
