Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily culinary operations, including meal preparation, food quality, presentation, and overall profitability.
- Evaluate and enhance Team Member performance, including productivity, supervision, professional development, and recognition.
- Inspire and lead the culinary team, promoting a culture of collaboration, creativity, and excellence.
- Manage food and labor costs to ensure optimal financial performance within established budgetary constraints.
- Conduct regular training sessions to elevate culinary skills and knowledge among Team Members.
- Perform general management duties, including systems management, budgeting, reporting, and departmental oversight.
- Inspect, select, and utilize high-quality food and beverage products, including fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, and spices.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create and implement new menus and individual dishes.
- Maintain exceptional standards of food quality, taste, and consistency through regular reviews of production methods and recipes.
- Work with other departments to provide outstanding guest experiences, including customizing menus for special requests or dietary needs.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, sanitation practices, and food handling procedures.
- Recruit, interview, and train Team Members.
- High School Diploma.
- 5+ years of experience in a high-end luxury resort or upscale dining establishment.
- 3-5 years of management experience.
- Culinary degree preferred.
- ServSafe Certification.
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and a rotating schedule.
- Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly.
- Capacity to maintain composure and objectivity in all situations.
- Proficiency in identifying and resolving workplace challenges.
- Effective listening skills to understand and clarify concerns raised by Team Members and guests.
- Demonstrated passion for hospitality and guest service.
- Experience in coaching, motivating, and leading a team.
- Knowledge of human resource policies and practices, including staffing plans, employee relations, training, and safety.
- Able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and reach repeatedly.
- Able to safely lift, pull, and push over 40 pounds.
- Able to be on your feet and move around for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity to operate all equipment.
- Ability to perform duties in varying temperature ranges.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and sensory abilities, including taste and smell, to ensure food quality.
