Program Coordinator Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to assist in the development and implementation of our recreational programs for individuals with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead programs and activities for participants with varying abilities and needs.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of program-related training for support staff.
  • Help distribute equipment and supplies to support staff.
  • Contribute to the creation and dissemination of program flyers and brochures.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Parks and Recreation, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of recreation activities and skills to instruct sports, games, fitness, and cultural arts.
  • Strong communication, computer, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Class "D" driver's license.

Program Sessions:

Winter/Spring: January-May
SUMMER: May-August
FALL: September-December

Hours/Days:

Dependent on school requirements and agency needs.

Northwest Special Recreation Association (NWSRA) strives to create engaging experiences for individuals with disabilities. We are looking for applicants who are passionate about recreation and motivated to improve themselves. If you are interested in inspiring others and having a positive impact, we encourage you to apply.

All positions are part-time, and work schedules may range from 1 hour to 25 hours per week. Scheduling is assigned at the beginning of each program season, with flexibility to adjust per season. Reliable transportation is required to ensure attendance at all scheduled programs.

NWSRA provides over 2,000 recreational programs annually, focusing on healthy living, fitness, imagination, community involvement, and increasing life skills. We work with member Park Districts to offer inclusive and accessible programs, allowing participants to Celebrate Their Lives.
