Impactful Role

TaxBit is on the lookout for a Principal Security Engineer to contribute to the design and development of security frameworks and solutions for our engineering teams. If you are eager to join a dynamic team and tackle challenges in the FinTech sector, this role may be an excellent match for you.

As a Principal Security Engineer at TaxBit, you will be driven by a passion for software, security, and collaboration. Your primary responsibility will be to create and enhance systems that ensure the security of TaxBit's engineering infrastructure, enabling the delivery of exceptional experiences and capabilities for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage the core security infrastructure utilized by all engineering teams at TaxBit.
  • Make significant decisions regarding systems and security, considering edge cases, potential failures, and lifecycle management.
  • Enhance team knowledge by refining engineering standards and processes.
  • Establish infrastructure that consistently detects signals for threat response teams.
  • Take ownership of problem-solving across various systems and services in close collaboration with fellow engineers.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of programming experience.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in building and managing cloud architecture, as well as detection and response mechanisms.
  • Extensive knowledge of security practices on AWS or other cloud platforms.
  • Ability to thrive in an agile environment and encourage continuous improvement within the team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to communicate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in teamwork and mentorship.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
