The Influence You'll Have

As a Lead MLOps Architect, you will be developing a platform that enhances drug discovery through machine learning across diverse applications related to data types, model structures, and model scales. Utilizing your expertise in machine learning, software development, infrastructure, and data management, you will:

  • Create our machine learning infrastructure using a combination of standard and bespoke tools to facilitate the entire model lifecycle from conception to implementation.
  • Collaborate with machine learning teams actively engaged in model development to integrate them into platform functionalities.
  • Continuously refine the platform to accommodate our advancing machine learning research capabilities and changing application requirements.
  • Guide the evolution of ML tools, elevate technical standards, and champion best practices.
  • Motivate your team and stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes by fostering constructive discussions and merging viewpoints into a cohesive perspective.

You will not:

  • Be tasked with the creation of machine learning models.

The Team You'll Collaborate With

The ML Infrastructure team's vision is to construct and sustain a centralized platform comprised of top-tier tools for machine learning. We aim to simplify and democratize machine learning across the organization by providing accessible solutions for constructing machine learning workflows from development to deployment. In a swiftly changing landscape of MLOps tools, we aspire to cultivate a culture of ongoing learning and growth to remain updated on emerging technologies and judiciously integrate them into the platform as appropriate for Recursion's dynamic range of applications.

Essential Experience Required

  • Proven experience in designing and constructing large-scale distributed systems with user-friendly interfaces that can scale effectively.
  • Expertise in the complete lifecycle of machine learning and software development in production, including:
    • Data preparation, model training, assessment, deployment, and monitoring.
    • Launching and maintaining mature machine learning products.
    • Writing well-tested, scalable, and documented code, conducting peer reviews, and implementing CI/CD practices.
  • Capability to lead projects in a collaborative and open environment.
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and support peers and colleagues.
  • Preferred skills: PyTorch, NumPy, Pandas, GCP, Hybrid Cloud, Linux, CUDA, Docker, Kubernetes, SLURM, BigQuery, large-scale distributed systems.

At Recursion, we believe in fair compensation for every employee. Based on the skills and experience required for this position, the estimated annual base salary range for this role is:

  • Developing: $170,000
  • Skilled: $179,000
  • Expert: $192,000
