Position Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse II (LPN II) plays a vital role in providing exceptional care within the Gastroenterology Clinic. This position operates under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Physician, or Advanced Practice Nurse, ensuring that all nursing practices adhere to legal and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient care while following established nursing standards and organizational policies.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including obtaining vital signs and documenting care accurately.
  • Assist in various clinical procedures and interventions, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and families on health management and medication administration.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED along with completion of a minimum one-year vocational/technical training program in nursing.

Experience: A minimum of two years of relevant nursing experience is required.

Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with the ability to perform technical nursing functions.

Licenses and Certifications

Must possess a valid Licensed Practical Nurse license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.

Work Environment

This position is based in a pediatric healthcare setting, focusing on the health and well-being of children and their families. The LPN II will be expected to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.
