About the Role

As a Radiation Therapist at Atrium Health, you will be responsible for planning and delivering radiation therapy treatments to patients under the supervision of a Radiation Oncologist. Your key duties will include:

  • Treating patients with ionizing radiation in adherence to regulatory guidelines;
  • Monitoring equipment parameters, documenting malfunctions, and understanding emergency procedures;
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment schedules;
  • Inputting treatment and simulation charge information into Aria;
  • Documenting patient treatment charts;
  • Understanding emergency procedures for linear accelerators and simulators;
  • Recognizing and reporting patient concerns and physical problems to appropriate personnel;
  • Communicating instructions and procedures to patients and their families;
  • Maintaining organization and cleanliness in the clinic.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A graduate degree from an AMA-approved school of Therapeutic Radiology or international equivalent;
  • ARRT registration or eligibility, with a requirement to pass the registry within 90 days of employment;
  • BLS certification per policy guidelines;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities;
  • The ability to respond quickly and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
