Job Function: The Holiday Coordinator will be responsible for the intake of children to the Kid Zone. They will provide an enjoyable experience for the children while their parents and/or guardian is shopping for the holiday. They will coordinate Volunteers Leads and volunteers in the daily function of the Kid Zone.

Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and administer developmentally appropriate activities for children in the holiday tent, ensuring the highest standard of care and adherence to Promiseland policies and the mission, vision, and guiding values of Metropolitan Ministries.
  2. Work with Volunteer Services to identify volunteers and collaborative partnerships to support the flow of the Kid Zone area of responsibility in the holiday tent.
  3. Assist with training and managing volunteers to ensure they adhere to safety procedures.
  4. Meet regularly with Associate Director and Senior Manager of Volunteers Services to address issues or concerns.
  5. Manage all shifts during the holiday season to ensure that all shifts are covered.
  6. Provide overall support and exercise leadership as needed during extended hours (holiday registration and holiday distribution).
  7. Support the team in other tasks as assigned and attend all team meetings.

Requirements:

A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of 1 year of experience working, volunteering or interning with an Early Childhood Teacher is also required. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work and communicate with low socio-economic and diverse parents and clients in a professional and diplomatic manner, and the ability to plan, organize and conduct early childhood education programs.

This position requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and the physical, emotional and spiritual stamina to handle job-related issues and stress.
