The Financial Aid Manager will oversee the administration of student financial aid programs, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. This role will supervise staff, develop policies and procedures, and analyze client needs to recommend policy changes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise phases of the operation of student financial aid programs
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate the work performance of lower-level employees
  • Conduct staff meetings and develop training materials
  • Participate in interviewing and hiring
  • Assist in the development and implementation of intra-office procedures, rules, and policies
  • Analyze client needs and recommend policy changes to administrators
  • Participate in the development of compliance procedures
  • Analyze federal and state processing specifications on an ongoing basis
  • Participate in supervising the administration of a financial aid department
  • Provide technical expertise and research references to resolve technical problems
  • Coordinate financial aid processing with external agencies
  • Supervise the preparation of statistical, operating, and planning records and/or reports
  • Develop forms, letters, and brochures needed to collect financial aid data from student applicants
  • Analyze, visualize, create, and apply new computer-aided techniques
  • Oversee the evaluation process for appeals
  • Oversee and maintain the quality and accuracy of financial aid publications

Qualifications

  • Any one or combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) from the following categories: College coursework in any discipline, work experience managing office, business, or customer service/relations activities, two (2) years (24 months) of higher education, student services, or closely related experience, one (1) year (12 months) of supervisory experience in higher education, student services, or closely related setting
