Job Summary

IEA Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives is seeking a skilled Transportation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for transporting construction equipment and materials safely and efficiently throughout and between job sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load and unload equipment and materials from vehicles
  • Secure loads and ensure they are within weight limits
  • Perform routine vehicle and equipment maintenance
  • Haul counterweights for cranes and other heavy equipment
  • Transport water, sand, and gravel as needed
  • Ensure all safety procedures are followed at all times
  • Communicate with the office, shop, and job site teams regarding equipment and material issues
  • Conduct daily inspections of vehicles
  • Obtain necessary permits and licenses
  • Maintain a safe driving record
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks on vehicles, including fueling, oil checks, and cleaning
  • Advise the Superintendent of any major repairs or maintenance needs
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One year certificate from college or technical school, or one to two years of related experience
  • Previous experience transporting construction equipment and materials
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding role that requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances. The successful candidate will be able to lift, push, and pull heavy equipment and materials, and will be required to work in a variety of weather conditions.
