Job Summary:

This part-time position is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting passengers for the City of Arlington's Senior Adult Travel Program. The ideal candidate will have excellent driving skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a 26-passenger bus through various traffic and road conditions, ensuring a safe and timely travel experience for customers.
  • Provide assistance to passengers with boarding and answer their information needs.
  • Complete reports on travel destinations, mileage, passenger counts, vehicle condition, and maintenance needs.
  • Maintain effective communication with passengers and program support staff to ensure quality customer service.
  • Assist customers and chaperone as needed during outings.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness.
  • Fuel a vehicle at commercial and City-owned fueling sites.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of streets and public facilities in the city and surrounding metro areas.
  • Ability to lift or exert forces equivalent to lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to maintain a good driving record and a CDL Class B driver's license with passenger endorsement.

Pre-Employment Testing:

  • Criminal Background Check.
  • Motor Vehicle Record Check.
  • Physical and Human Performance Evaluation (HPE).
  • Drug and Alcohol Testing.

This is a City Safety Sensitive position.
