The technician must possess the ability to diagnose and resolve both simple and intricate automotive problems, as well as conduct routine maintenance on passenger vehicles and heavy machinery.

A valid driver's license is mandatory.

Job Overview:


The employee will be tasked with performing tire and automotive-related services, along with additional responsibilities as directed by management.


Key Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Adhere to established protocols for inspecting tires, wheels, and vehicles pre- and post-service.
2. Accurately document work performed in line with company policies.
3. Utilize hydraulic jacks and/or automotive lifts to elevate vehicles.
4. Remove and reattach wheels using torque wrenches, lug wrenches, and various hand and power tools. Mount and dismount tires onto wheels.
5. Identify and inflate tires according to manufacturer specifications.
6. Use balancing machines to determine necessary counterweights for wheel balance, and secure counterweights onto rims.
7. Replace valve stems as needed.
8. Repair tires following industry-standard guidelines.
9. Rotate tires in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
10. Conduct routine maintenance services, including oil changes and lubrication.
11. Safely maneuver vehicles in and out of the shop.
12. Evaluate vehicles and their components using accepted diagnostic methods, which may involve test driving and utilizing diagnostic equipment.
13. Repair, reline, replace, and adjust braking systems.
14. Follow checklists to ensure thorough examination of critical components such as belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, and brakes.
15. Communicate with customers to gather descriptions of vehicle issues and discuss required work and future repair needs.
16. Troubleshoot and diagnose minor electrical system problems.
17. Inspect vehicles, estimate repair costs, and obtain customer approval for repairs.
18. Repair or replace defective suspension components.
19. Conduct State Inspections as per outlined procedures.
20. Service air conditioning, heating, and engine cooling systems.
21. Repair or replace fuel injectors and carburetor components.
22. Service or replace transmission parts and drivetrain components.
23. Remove and replace defective exhaust components.
24. Disassemble, repair, and rebuild faulty assemblies such as steering systems.
25. Perform front-end alignments and suspension services.

While performing job duties, employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and varying weather conditions. The work environment is typically loud, and may not be climate-controlled. Employees frequently handle dirty and greasy components and may work in awkward positions. Regular lifting of up to 100 pounds is required, with frequent lifting of heavier objects.

Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Minor workplace injuries may occur, but serious accidents can be avoided by adhering to safety practices.


Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent, along with relevant experience, is preferred but not mandatory.
