Summer internship activities may encompass:
  • Orientation sessions, training workshops, field excursions, social gatherings, weekly seminars, and opportunities to engage with business leaders and executives.
  • Ongoing coaching discussions with your supervisor, who will guide you throughout your internship.
  • Assignment of a mentor to provide additional support and assist you with technical challenges and day-to-day inquiries in the corporate environment.
  • Delivering a presentation at the conclusion of the summer to senior management and key stakeholders, showcasing your learning and experiences.
Our Refining operations include global refining, marketing, and transportation of petroleum products and related specialty businesses. Through our refining segment, Phillips 66 transforms crude oil and other feedstocks into high-value petroleum products such as clean-burning gasoline, ultra-low-sulfur diesel, jet fuel, lubricants, and other specialty items, all while prioritizing safety and environmental standards.

An Engineering summer internship with Phillips 66 Refining offers opportunities to contribute to our Refining or Midstream sectors:
  • Projects are designed to provide a clear understanding of the role of an engineering professional within Phillips 66. Focus areas may include process optimization, enhancing energy efficiency, managing logistics, improving equipment reliability, monitoring emissions, or completing permit applications, as well as optimizing equipment usage by identifying and rectifying defects through advanced modeling and data analysis tools. Each project will address significant business needs.
  • Collaborate closely with seasoned engineers and network with fellow interns.
  • Gain insights into company practices, procedures, and technical tools, along with technical training sessions and hands-on experience.
  • Internship locations may vary.
Required qualifications:
  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in relevant engineering fields.
  • More than 30 hours of earned college credit.
  • Graduation date of August 2025 or later.
  • Available for a minimum of eleven continuous weeks.
  • Must be able to maintain a proper seal with a respirator/face mask, which may require being clean-shaven.
Preferred qualifications:
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Previous internship experience with Phillips 66.
  • Prior internship or co-op experience in a related industry.
  • Willingness to work in any of our operational locations.
  • Valid driver's license.

Compensation

The base pay range for this role is $2, $3,225.00 bi-weekly, depending on the candidate's level of education.
