Marketing Director Job Description

The Director of Marketing will be a dynamic and results-driven leader, responsible for shaping and executing innovative, integrated marketing strategies that accelerate the company's growth and enhance its competitive edge.

This hands-on role will drive collaboration across departments, optimize customer engagement, and strengthen brand positioning through data-informed decision-making.

With a focus on scaling initiatives, the Director will ensure marketing efforts align with broader business objectives, directly contributing to increased market share, revenue growth, and customer retention.

The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of ownership and thrive in a fast-paced environment, adeptly managing multiple projects while consistently delivering measurable outcomes.

Reporting to the Chief Experience Officer, this role will lead the marketing team in supporting key initiatives across the organization and will have exposure at the Board of Directors level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive the overarching marketing strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives.
  • Oversee the development of integrated marketing campaigns that include digital, traditional, and content marketing initiatives.
  • Lead the development of high-impact content and messaging that drives demand and directly supports key business objectives.
  • Oversee the creation of diverse marketing assets, including lead-nurturing campaigns, video content, events, white papers, and more.
  • Ensure all content aligns with strategic goals and effectively engages target audiences across multiple channels.
  • Lead the evolution of the company's brand identity and online presence.
  • Oversee the optimization of the company's website, utilizing analytics to enhance user experience, improve conversions, and execute advanced SEO strategies.
  • Direct the company's external communications strategy, overseeing press releases, media relations, and other PR activities.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of marketing initiatives through KPIs and key metrics, providing actionable insights to enhance campaign effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Proven strategic leadership experience in developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies for technology companies scaling from start-up to rapid growth.
  • Digital and content marketing expertise, with a demonstrated ability to create compelling, clear, and actionable content for a variety of audiences.
  • Analytical and data-driven expertise, with a strong proficiency in digital marketing technologies and data analysis tools to drive results.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex ideas to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Cross-functional influence, with a strong ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence senior stakeholders, and foster a collaborative environment across departments.

Education and Experience:

  • BS/BA in Communications, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in integrated/digital marketing and communications with a proven track record of success in driving business growth and market penetration.
  • 4+ years in a leadership or management role, with demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage cross-functional initiatives.

Industry Knowledge:

  • Prior experience in the technology sector or additive manufacturing is highly preferred.
