Job Summary
The Boston Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Athletic Coach to lead our sports teams and programs. As a key member of our Athletics Department, you will be responsible for managing and directing our athletic programs, ensuring the success and well-being of our student-athletes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective coaching strategies to enhance team performance and achieve competitive success.
- Recruit, retain, and develop talented student-athletes to participate in our sports programs.
- Manage and submit all required paperwork for participation, including scheduling and equipment inventory.
- Conduct regular practices and schedule non-conference competitions.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment for student-athletes, adhering to all MIAA and BPS policies and procedures.
- Attend pre-season and post-season meetings, and meet all required BPS Athletics deadlines.
- Transportation schedule (practices and competitions).
Requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of the sport and leadership/organizing skills.
- Certified in CPR, First Aid, and AED.
- Completion of annual Youth Sports Concussion Training Certification.
- Successful completion of the MIAA Coaches Education Course.
