Job Summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Data Management Analyst to join our team. As a Data Management Analyst, you will be responsible for coordinating accurate data abstraction, data entry, and reporting for assigned national databases. You will utilize software applications to collect and summarize data elements from the electronic medical record and produce a variety of reports for research, quality improvement, and departmental planning.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates accurate data abstraction, data entry, and reporting for assigned national databases.
  • Utilizes software applications to collect and summarize data elements from the electronic medical record and produce a variety of reports for research, quality improvement, and departmental planning.
  • Plans and conducts complex data collection, including development of data validation and automation tools.
  • Understands the impact of accurate reporting to CMS, TJC, and other regulatory entities, and regularly validates data quality.
  • Complies with all federal, state, IRB, and institutional guidelines related to data management.
Requirements
  • Baccalaureate degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or related healthcare field.
  • Registered Health Information Technology certification (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) registration.
  • Minimum of 5 years healthcare experience with a strong emphasis on anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Good understanding of data abstraction and data entry experience is required.
  • Knowledge of ICD and CPT coding highly preferred.
Work Environment

Work will primarily be performed remotely, but at times will require incumbent to be on site. Therefore, must live within a reasonable driving distance of Rochester campus.
