Position Summary
The Certified Behavior Analyst will work collaboratively with the entire IEP team to design and implement educational and behavioral strategies rooted in Applied Behavior Analysis principles. Key responsibilities include evaluating student behaviors, customizing educational materials to cater to individual requirements, tracking skill development, creating and managing behavior intervention plans, establishing data collection methodologies, and providing training and oversight to instructional staff in Applied Behavior Analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the educational programs for children receiving services, focusing on program design, execution, enhancement, and data analysis.
- Ensure confidentiality is maintained with all stakeholders, including staff, parents, and educational personnel.
- Collaborate with Behavior Technicians to identify and implement effective strategies tailored to each student's needs, including visual supports, sensory accommodations, communication enhancements, social skills development, behavioral interventions, and reinforcement techniques.
- Conduct assessments for current students and prospective applicants to evaluate their abilities.
- Work closely with the educational director and fellow Behavior Analysts to identify necessary curriculum and its implementation.
- Supervise Behavior Technicians, providing training and conducting performance evaluations, including video analysis.
- Guide Behavior Technicians to ensure that student needs are met effectively.
- Perform functional behavior assessments and develop behavior intervention plans as required.
- Engage in team meetings with parents and educational representatives.
- Conduct observations and generate reports with actionable recommendations for clients.
- Oversee the formulation of IEP objectives and progress documentation, ensuring all goals are actively pursued.
- Collaborate with the clinical director on program development initiatives.
- Additional responsibilities may encompass training sessions for educators, presentations, and research activities.
Employment Type
This is a full-time role that involves working with students exhibiting challenging behaviors and participating in community engagement activities.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the autism field.
- Proven experience as an ABA practitioner.
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst credential.
- Valid Virginia medical license in Behavior Analysis.
- In-depth knowledge and expertise in applied behavior analysis and evidence-based practices for individuals with autism and other developmental challenges.
- Willingness to travel for consultations.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position includes the supervision of Behavior Technicians.
