Key Responsibilities- Maintain and repair all mechanical equipment, including plumbing, electrical, heating, and air conditioning systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and systems as scheduled.
- Inspect and repair guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas to ensure they are clean and well-maintained.
- Follow all safety, hygiene, and cleanliness protocols at all times.
- Run tests and add chemicals to the water and sewage system, including the swimming pool and spa.
- Diagnose and repair problems with machinery and equipment.
- Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment.
- Perform plumbing, painting, and electrical work as needed.
- Install and repair electrical apparatus and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Complete all assigned work orders and report results to the Chief Engineer.
- Repair and maintain the physical structure of the establishment.
- Set comfort zones in meeting rooms and public spaces.
- Issue keys and re-key guest room doors.
- Install, program, and repair automated machinery.
- Set up and operate machine tools to cut or join metal parts.
- Maintain logs and records of preventative maintenance schedules and equipment used.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area and equipment.
- Log completed work orders and complete required inspection sheets.
- Fabricate and repair wooden structures.
- Report major repairs and items that cannot be repaired to the Chief Engineer.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Basic knowledge of trades, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical experience.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for the operation and repair of electrical equipment.
- Skill in the use of related tools, including hand and electrical tools.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to read, listen, and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to write routine maintenance reports.
- Able to deal with a number of problems with various levels of complexity, requiring initiative and good judgment.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Meets legal age requirements for the position.
- Valid California Driver License.
- HVAC Certification preferred.
