Job Summary

The Security Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of clients and staff in a family shelter operation. This role reports to the Program Director and oversees the day-to-day functions of the shelter, including supervising Shift Supervisors and Safety Security Officers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Shift Supervisors and Safety Security Officers
  • Provide support to all aspects of building operations
  • Ensure client rooms are inspected daily
  • Monitor client property and storage areas
  • Work with the Director of Social Services to ensure client adherence to Westhab and DHS mandates
  • Conduct random inspections and searches
  • Participate in weekly Interdisciplinary Team meetings
  • Monitor reception area and provide crisis intervention
  • Complete and maintain assigned paperwork
  • Create weekly schedules and monitor attendance
  • Assist the Facility Manager with emergencies and training

Requirements:

NYS Security Guard license required. High school diploma required, Associates Degree preferred and at least three years of related security experience. Supervisory experience is required. Must have demonstrated skills in conflict resolution, crisis management, and knowledge of video surveillance and fire alarm systems. Valid NYS driver's license required. 24-hour on-call for emergencies. Bilingual English/Spanish required.
