POSITION SUMMARY: The Protocol Infrastructure Engineer presents an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to become part of Foundry, a subsidiary of the blockchain industry's most influential investor, Digital Currency Group. Reporting to the VP of AI, the Protocol Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining essential infrastructure to support the operation of AI and blockchain technologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, implement, and maintain resilient infrastructure solutions to ensure the smooth operation and scalability of advanced protocols.
  • Collaborate with protocol participants and developers to comprehend technical requirements and devise infrastructure solutions that address their needs.
  • Automate deployment, monitoring, and maintenance processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Monitor system performance and conduct performance tuning to optimize resource utilization and scalability.
  • Implement security best practices to safeguard protocol infrastructure from potential threats and vulnerabilities, utilizing secrets management tools for secure handling of sensitive information.
  • Initiate and manage cloud provider instances to support infrastructure requirements and employ monitoring tools to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide prompt resolutions to guarantee high availability and reliability of protocol services.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and procedures for infrastructure operations and maintenance.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements and trends in infrastructure technologies and propose innovative solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, ideally within the AI or blockchain sectors.
  • Proficiency in Linux-based systems administration and shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security principles.
  • Proficiency in programming languages, particularly Python.
  • Strong skills in automation tools and technologies (e.g., Datadog).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with AI and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Knowledge of cryptocurrency and/or blockchain principles.
  • Passion for decentralization and exploring emerging technologies.

COMPENSATION: The salary range for this role is $95,000 - $140,000. This range reflects our good faith belief regarding the compensation for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary.
