Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Life Enrichment Assistant to join our team at Independence Village. As a key member of our activities department, you will play a vital role in planning and executing life-enriching activities that promote the social welfare and interests of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Life Enrichment Coordinator/Director in developing and implementing activity programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents.
  • Plan and execute regularly scheduled activities, including life skills training and social events.
  • Maintain a safe and organized inventory of activity supplies and materials.
  • Ensure the completion of all tasks and functions while prioritizing resident safety.
  • Coordinate the posting of activities and maintain a clean and safe environment for activities within the community.
  • Accompany residents on outings and provide transportation using our community shuttle bus.
  • Assist residents with getting on and off the bus, utilizing the appropriate and safest mode for assistance.
  • Present a professional appearance and maintain a positive attitude that supports team performance and productivity.
Requirements
  • Compassionate and empathetic towards the senior population.
  • One to three years of related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficient in general computer skills.
Working Conditions

This position requires standing for long periods of time and involves frequent communication with others. The employee must be able to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to handle various equipment and objects. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The work environment requires appropriate interaction with others, and the noise level is moderate.
