Senior Commercial Underwriter Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Underwriter to join our team at Gramercy Risk Management. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating renewal accounts in accordance with established underwriting guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of company underwriting guidelines, coverage forms, enhancements, rating plans, and workflow.
  • Determine eligibility of individual accounts based on company underwriting guidelines.
  • Effectively use underwriting information such as inspection reports, claims history, and commercial applications, and supplemental information collected to make appropriate underwriting decisions on individual accounts.
  • Evaluate underwriting information on individual accounts to determine appropriate terms and conditions to be offered.
  • Responsible for maintaining and developing strong business relationships with appointed brokers.
  • Meet or exceed all company service standards for underwriting and processing commercial lines applications, endorsements, renewal policies, and new business policies.
  • Train assistant underwriters as needed.
Requirements:
  • College degree
  • 5+ years of Underwriting experience
  • Current commercial multi-line (package) experience; experience in underwriting construction business is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and time management skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Adept at learning new computer skills and programs.
  • Knowledge of IMS and /or Net Rate helpful
  • Exhibits sound judgment and decision making as per company underwriting guidelines & philosophy.
  • May travel up to approximately 15%
  • Achieved or in process of achieving a professional designation such as CPCU, CIC, ARM is a plus

The compensation package includes salary commensurate with levels of skills and experience, a comprehensive benefit package including but not limited to:

Salary range: $120,000-140,000 annually
