Position Overview

Base Compensation: $113, $146,900.00 / year

ROLE SUMMARY

The Advanced Practice Provider delivers comprehensive health care services by conducting thorough assessments, including detailed patient histories and physical examinations. This role involves ordering necessary diagnostic tests and executing therapeutic interventions under the guidance of a designated supervising physician. The provider collaborates closely with the clinical team, engaging in Medical Staff and PA/NP meetings, as well as contributing to various projects and committees at Shasta Community Health Center.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct detailed patient histories and physical examinations.
  • Order relevant diagnostic tests and implement suitable treatment plans in accordance with practice guidelines.
  • Seek consultation from the supervising physician for cases that exceed the scope of practice or require additional expertise.
  • Effectively communicate with patients regarding their health care, providing education and addressing inquiries during consultations.
  • Exhibit proficient knowledge in patient care through peer review processes, including chart evaluations and collaborative interactions with physician preceptors and support staff.
  • Actively participate in clinical staff activities, including Medical Staff meetings, PA/NP gatherings, and other relevant committees.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities within the scope of practice as directed.
  • Maintain current medical licenses and provide copies to Human Resources.
  • Submit proof of completed Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours annually to Human Resources.
  • Consent to an annual physical examination as per regulatory requirements.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Understanding of contemporary therapies and the ability to engage the supervising physician when necessary.
  • Experience in outpatient clinic settings, particularly with underserved populations, is preferred.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Possess a current license in good standing with the California Licensing Board.
  • Hold current PA certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants or NP certification from the American Nurses' Association.
  • Maintain current CPR certification.

PREFERRED CREDENTIALS

  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification
